UST ChE Students Strengthen their Art with Minecraft

By Jardine Bonifacio

Last January 31, UST ChES conducted a creatives and multimedia workshop entitled “Minecraft: Cultivating Creative Minds” at the Engineering AVR. Spearheaded by Jethro Abesamis and Sheralyn Fuerte, the project was organized in the hopes of engaging the ChE students in the field of digital and multimedia arts.

"I felt excited because it's about photography and I thought there's a lot of things I can grasp onto this seminar since I also do photography. I just hesitated a little because we are ChE students and they might not appreciate this kind of seminar. On the other hand, I felt enthusiastic because I believe we are all creative and it will encourage ChE students to explore the field of photography and photo and video editing”, shared Abesamis, one of the project heads.

Rising artists in the field of street and portrait photography, Mr. Napier Ray Tolentino and Ms. Sophiya Misha Salud, laid down the essentials of photography including nifty techniques and hacks on how to capture the perfect photo.

Shortly after, Mr. Carl Roy Rosales, who made a name in Cinema One’s one-minute student film competition, imparted his knowledge on the basics of video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro.
