The Chemical Engineering Department, in collaboration with UST ChES, held its program orientation and general assembly last August 31, 2017 from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Education Auditorium. The event aimed to officially introduce the department to the 3rd year students, and to share the department’s goal, vision, and tradition of excellence to the ChE community.
The program was hosted by Marie Catangay and JM Esporlas. The opening remarks was given by Jinessa Mary Surot, Executive Vice President of UST ChES, which highlighted the mark of a new beginning for the organization,

To brighten the atmosphere, the UST ChES executive council and executive board presented an upbeat dance number.

Engr. Celedonio ended her talk, believing that this year’s achievement will surpass the previous years. She emphasized that it is not only the faculty’s effort but it requires everyone’s efforts. “The Department of Chemical Engineering does not only pertain to the professors, but it also pertains to the students,” she said.
After the department orientation, PICHE-JCL Vice President for Academic Affairs, Samuel Estrada, shared their plans for the whole academic year. He presented the PICHE-JCL’s vision, mission, board of officers, UST ChE representatives, and flagship events.
It was followed by UST ChES President, Arun Nanda Kumar’s presentation of the organization’s yearlong plans for this academic year. He introduced each committee and their respective events. As he progressed into his presentation, he expressed the need to strengthen the three way bond within the department, the society, and the students.

The hosts ended the program with a message, “Live the passion and hold the dream”.
