The UST Chemical Engineering Society (UST-ChES), together with other Engineering Organizations, is holding its annual membership drive that will last for five days, from August 22-27 at the Education fenced area from 8:00am - 5:00pm. It is an annual event in the Faculty of Engineering where every Engineering student will be given a chance to choose an organization which they want to be a part of.
The winners of the Pin the Cyclops game will be awarded with the Prestige Card and gift certificates at the end of the Membership Drive. The VRBox experience received various comments from the students, but nevertheless enjoyed the activity. “Masaya naman siya kung hindi lang nakakatakot,” said Reena Hernandez, a 2nd year student.

Prestige cards will be given to selected ChES members following the mechanics:
- First 10 members to pay on the first day of the membership drive
- First 10 members to post their selfies with the executive council officers and tag UST ChES on facebook
- First student who takes a screenshot of UST ChES’ snaps (per day)
- 10 winners in twitter game
- 5 lucky onsite booth game winners.
Benefits for prestige card holders are 10% discount on all merchandise (except planner), reserved tickets for General Assembly and more.
Several associates of different committees participated on the membership drive like the Academic Affairs Committee who conducted surveys for the upcoming events, plant tours and other things to expect from the UST-ChES. “Di namin in-expect na ganun kadami ang mga pupunta pero approachable naman lahat,” said Jude Michael Bagayao, a 2nd year Academic Affairs associate.
Random members were asked to evaluate on how the UST-ChES organized the said event from 1 to 10 as 10 being the highest. Some gave a rate of 7.5 out of 10 because of the crowded venue and suggested that the membership drive should go back to last year’s venue at the UST Quadricentennial Pavillion Practice Gymnasium, others gave a rate of 9 out of 10 since the membership drive was organized and fun, and they also commented that the venue was too crowded and a rate of 10 out of 10 was given due to fast and organized registration.
